Amy & Cinder, Illinois 🇺🇸

Our story..

Amy rescued Cinder from Pittsfield, Illinois. She was Skin & Bones when Amy & her family rescued her. She is now 3 and is living the life a Doberman deserves.

Thanks Amy! ❤️ 🐾

Rowe & Darla Jane 🇺🇸

Our Story...

We adopted our Doberman shortly after she turned 5 from the greater Huntsville Humane society www.ghhs.org . Her name is Dalra Jane, and she is by far the sweetest, most loving, loyal, and smartest gentle giant I've ever met. She is great to other dogs, new people, babies, and my 92 year old Grandamother. -Rowe

Meeko & Valerie 🇺🇸

Our Story...

Meeko was circulating on FB as very large Doberman who had just been surrendered with another and was listed as a Hospice case- they stated that he maybe only had 4 yrs of life left due to having Wobblers disease.
A woman ( who is now a best friend) and myself were trying to get his info out there to get him adopted. I went to see him to vet him, and I fell in Love. Unfortunately, a plan was put in place that would have been detrimental to him- and my best friend and I stepped up and stepped in. I called several rescues for Dobermans in PA state recommended by my friend. DVDPA stepped up to the plate to help pull him, and we were on pins and needles until we found out he was coming home with us. I never felt more relief than the moment Tony ( my husband) and I walked into the shelter to bring Meeko home!
DVDPA were a good support and it didn’t take long for us to realize, once we opened this gentle Giant up, he would never be ok if he had to leave us- so we adopted him. ❤️🐾
Once we got him home and got vet care, good diet, and gave Meeks lots of decompression and Love, we saw that he did not have Wobblers, but severe arthritis  in his back hips and legs, coupled with some other health issues over the 4 years we had him. It ripped our hearts out to lose him to Osteosarcoma ( bone cancer), after bringing him back from so much in his life. But my Giant Teddy Bear Meeko changed so many people’s minds about the Doberman breed- he was an amazing Ambassador- and he will always have my heart in his paw.  Meeko was about 7/8 yrs old when we brought him home- he left us around 11/12 yrs old.
PLEASE consider older Rescues- they should not have to suffer or be alone in the last years of their lives. Meeko was so full of life despite everything!!! He was my Soldier boy and my Baby always!!!💙🐾💖

Lisa & Tyler 🇺🇸

This is our story...

Hi. This is Tyler. I first fostered and the adopted him through Great Babies Rescue. He has spent the last two years chained outside 12 hours a day, no bed, no shelter and the other 12 in a crate in the basement. He had learned how to slip his collar so they tied him with a cable around his neck. He has scars on his neck, hindquarters and hind legs from getting tangled up in it. Based on the scarring, pretty horrific wounds. His PAL registration name is LJ’s Don’t Tie Me Down. He is a bit of a bull in the china shop but very sweet and wicked smart. He will crate nicely for me, has zero accidents, and destroys nothing. His first year or part of it was normal until the domestic violence started. He was the re homed where he became part of the “chain gang”. He has been through basic obedience and earned his CGC in June. I got him in January. It has been heart warming to see the layers come off of him as he realizes that he is home. I own a horse farm, so he is learning horse manners too. My beloved Tank died 4 days before I took Tyler in. I begged the rescue for him to foster. He was on meds for an enlarged prostate but graciously allowed me to take him, in part because of my stellar reputation in caring for my animals. The picture on the left was the one the rescue posted. The one on the right is when he passed his CGC. We are from St Joseph, Mi.
